Our SchoolWe are a school with approximately 63 children who all have some degree of motor impairment. Our school is situated in beautiful surroundings with lots of mature trees and we have had our buildings and facilities upgraded to further enhance school programmes. Our school has 10 classes (year 1-13), plus a parent and baby group and a preschool class. We provide specialised programmes in classrooms with a high teacher/pupil ratio and therapy involvement in all classes. Class teams comprise Teacher, Speech Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Teacher Aides. Our students receive ORRS, (Ongoing and reviewable Resourcing Scheme) funding. This is used to provide teacher aides, therapists and equipment.
We have three satellite units at: Oranga Primary (Double Unit) Waikowhai Intermediate The satellite units are staffed by Carlson school, the students in them are enrolled at our base school and are supported by our staff, but are situated in a mainstraem school. We encourage the achievement and sucess of all our students with the flexibility and support to encourage each students learning. We encourage our students to achieve to the best of their ability.
